[ARCHIVE PONTIAC 2007] Jessica Squires candidate in Pontiac

In the Pontiac riding, in Outaouais, Jessica Squires will defend with clarity the values of Québec solidaire.

She is a doctoral student in history at Carleton University and president of her union, CUPE 4600.

In the past few years, she has been involved in the antiglobalization movement, the peace movement and in human rights campaigns. 

Jessica Squires is one of the two spokespeople for the Outaouais region of Québec solidaire. During the campaign, Jessica intends to take a stand on the mega dump at Danford and other social justice and environmental issues.

She will also emphasize the importance for her riding of the Québec solidaire platform on workers’ rights:

The abrogation of the anti-union laws adopted in 2003 et 2005

An increase in the minimum wage to $10 per hour, indexed thereafter

Three weeks of paid vacation for all
